ECZ 2026 · GCE Paper 1 — Travel Graphs
The diagram shows the speed-time graph of a particle which starts from rest and accelerates uniformly to a speed of 10 m/s in 8 seconds. It then travels at a constant speed for 60 seconds before decelerating uniformly to rest in a further 32 seconds. Find the acceleration of the particle during the first 8 seconds.

- A. 0.8 m/s2
- B. 80 m/s2
- C. 1.25 m/s2
- D. 0.125 m/s2
Verified working — step 1
On a speed-time graph, acceleration is the gradient - the speed gained each second. The full step-by-step working and final answer are included with Premium — checked against ECZ marking standards.
