ECZ 2026 · GCE Paper 1 — Travel Graphs
The diagram shows the speed-time graph of a particle which starts from rest and accelerates uniformly to a speed of 10 m/s in 8 seconds. It then travels at a constant speed for 60 seconds before decelerating uniformly to rest in a further 32 seconds. Find the speed of the particle at t = 84 seconds.

- A. 10 m/s
- B. 7.5 m/s
- C. 2.5 m/s
- D. 5 m/s
Verified working — step 1
At t = 84 s the particle is in the slowing-down stage (68 s to 100 s). Find how much speed it loses each second, then how long it has been slowing down. The full step-by-step working and final answer are included with Premium — checked against ECZ marking standards.
